Recently my trusty Tivo Series 2 died. Well, actually my drive crashed. I could have replaced it but I wanted a new TiVo so I told the wife it was fatal. I picked up a used Series 3 HD for $65 and bought a 2TB hard drive. After 3 days of reading and playing with Linux core I was able to get the full 2TB to show. So I now have 2777 hours of TiVo glory.
From there I went over to my local WOW shop (Schaumburg Rocks) and brought my digital box to swap for a M tuner card. I took it home and sent a hit through the automated system. Success on the first try. This is the exact opposite than what I go through with my customers on Comcast. Comcast does not understand I charge my customers a flat rate, and whey they give me the run around, I lose money. With WOW, no problems.
Once again WOW, pick up a card, plug it in, send a hit. AND IT WORKS! Can’t beat that.
